Arsenal fans can relax and enjoy the rest of their weekend.
All the talk in the build-up was about a well-rested Spurs unit who recently beat Real Madrid were likely to take three points from the Emirates this afternoon.
But it was the hosts who ran out 2-0 winners in the North London derby thanks to first-half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez.

And the latter provided one the most most bizarre (and fantastic) moments of the season, not with his goal, but by accidentally celebrating a throw-in.
Watch it in all its glory here…
The Chilean superstar chased down a ball destined to roll out of play and overbalanced slightly, causing him to slide on his front as if he’d just bagged a last-minute winner in a major final.
The wet surface provided the perfect platform for one of the most unintentionally hilarious moments of the season so far… for us anyway.
And why shouldn’t the Gunners celebrate?
Arsene Wenger’s men were by far and away the better team on the day, even if there were suspicions of offside for both goals, and deserved their victory.

Mesut Ozil silenced some of his critics with an accomplished performance in a ‘big game’.
The German playmaker got up and down the pitch, doing some fine defensive work as well as his customary fine use of possession.
The 29-year-old was given a tremendous reception when he was substituted late in the second half and, after this performance, fans will hoping he signs a new contract more than ever.
But forget that for now, one more Sanchez slide please…
